BASIC SWAT MEDIC COURSE

August, 6 - 8th 2012

This 3 day course is a course designed for new SWAT MEDICS or MEDICS that have not had any formal training in Tactical Medical Operations.
Shooters Edge, LLC will provide instruction on the basic fundamentals of SWAT, so that the Medic can integrate smoothly within their team. 

This course will include:

• Evolution of SWAT
• The Role of a Tactical Medic
• Physical Considerations (PT)
• Leadership
• Policy Issues (Use of Force/Legal Liability)
• Mental Conditioning for Confrontations
• Overview of Individual / Team Equipment and Tactical Medical Gear
• Operations / Deployment (Importance of planning, Operation Orders)
• Casualty Collection Points (CCP’s)
• Combat Casualty Care
• K9 Casualty Care
• Marksmanship (LIVE FIRE)
• Movement Techniques / Individual, Buddy, and Team (LIVE FIRE)
• Target Recognition / Mistake of Fact MOF (LIVE FIRE)
• Principles of CQC (Close Quarter Combat)
• Stacks / Entry / Room Clearing
• Negotiating Hallways and Stairwells
• Scenarios

Written test along with the end of course scenario day will require a passing score to complete the course. Safety violations will be an automatic dismissal, as it should be on the student's team. During the course, Simunitions FX Marking Cart. / Airsoft equipment will be used.
